STARTER BAKERY ALBANY
For Starter Bakery’s highly anticipated second East Bay cafe location, we again partnered with CAHA Design to transform a former dentist’s office on Solano Avenue into a warm, production-driven bakery and gathering spot tailored to both craft and community.
The scope included full demolition and complete infrastructure upgrades to support commercial baking operations - new kitchen systems, mechanical and electrical distribution, structural slab modifications, a walk-in cooler, equipment lift, fire alarm upgrades, and custom millwork and throughout. Exterior work included coordination for new rooftop mechanical equipment.
The completed space balances clean lines and durable materials with thoughtful detailing. White tile-wrapped display counters, glass pastry cases, ash shelving, and exposed systems create a crisp, modern environment that highlights the craft of baking while maintaining operational efficiency behind the scenes.
The Albany community eagerly anticipated the opening of this space, and we were proud to bring it to life!
