PROPOSITION CHICKEN
We were thrilled to team up for the first time with Proposition Chicken and Arcflux Studio on this bold and spirited refresh of their newest location in West Portal, a former restaurant space that was ready for reinvention. What began as a fairly standard restaurant-to-restaurant turnover quickly evolved into a full-blown transformation, and we were more than ready for the challenge.
The project included selective demolition of existing finishes, fixtures, and equipment, followed by trenching and the installation of framing, new plumbing and electrical, and mechanical systems (including new rooftop equipment). We built out new countertops, cabinetry, and shelving throughout, introduced new lighting, and brought in a sleek fireplace with wood cladding and neon to cozy up the patio. The tile work alone deserves a shoutout: the vibrant, mosaic hex designs added a custom flair that really ties the space together. The new takeout window was no small feat to execute, but well worth the effort. On the backend, we installed new equipment alongside robust MEP upgrades, including two Type I hoods, one exhaust fan, and a new make-up air unit.
