A Project Engineer is detailed oriented, tech savvy and dynamic. The Project Engineer will be onsite everyday managing active commercial construction projects in collaboration with Project Managers.

Projects range in size from small remodels to large tenant improvements. Projects are located in San Francisco, the East Bay and the South Bay. Travel within the Bay Area is required.

General duties

The Project Engineer will oversee commercial construction projects, with a focus on delivering high quality projects and great service to our clients.

·       Manage construction site daily, including keeping it clean, on schedule and per plans

·       Coordinate, maintain schedule and manage subcontractors and suppliers in collaboration with the Project Manager

·       Communicate effectively with external (clients) and internal (leadership team) stakeholders on project status, including preparing and circulating meeting notes, RFIs, submittals and change orders

·       Partner with the Project Manager during the construction phase of the project to budget, manage and forecast craft labor, equipment, materials, small tools, consumables and general conditions

·       Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any arising issues

·       Oversee all onsite and offsite construction to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations

·       Order and track tools, materials and equipment as needed to deliver the project

·       Obtain permits and licenses as necessary to complete the project

·       Analyze, manage and mitigate risks

·       Meet contractual conditions of performance, including maintaining standards and proper construction techniques

·       Participate in ongoing education and training opportunities and corporate events.

 

Requirements

·       A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience working in commercial construction management

·       Excellent knowledge of construction management processes

·       Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and methods

·       Vehicle (gas reimbursement available) and ability to travel to job sites across the Bay Area

·       Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or related field preferred

·       Desirable: love of food and eating at great restaurants, Spanish language
