We were excited about Ernest from the day we heard that Chef Brandon Rice had plans to create a restaurant of his own. Ernest will be a welcome addition to the Mission neighborhood when he is able to share his globally influenced style of cooking with the best of what's in season locally. Designed by Hemminger Architects, the space (formerly a coffee bar), was almost completely gutted. We built all new walls, clean finishes and installed all new kitchen equipment (and lots of shiny stainless steel). Beneath the beauty is some intense mechanical work, including over 100 feet of new ducting throughout the space. Other noteworthy elements include a visually impactful array of pendant lighting, a metal and glass wall to separate the private dining space, and a large custom fence to frame the outdoor dining area. 2,420 square feet
