This project marked a meaningful milestone for the beloved homegrown brand Bun Mee, as they reimagined a new location in the heart of San Francisco’s Marina District. Taking over a space that formerly housed a wine bar, we worked closely with the owner and architect Zero Ten Design to fully transform the space into a fresh new chapter for the brand.
What began as a straightforward remodel quickly became an exercise in adaptation, as we encountered a number of unexpected conditions beneath the surface. From surprise discoveries in the slab to creative reworking of outdated infrastructure, our team managed the evolving scope with care and clear communication. We executed extensive demolition, trenching, new plumbing and mechanical systems, and a full reconfiguration of the kitchen and service areas.
The front of house now features crisp new finishes, refinished floors, and beautifully crafted millwork throughout, including wood shelving and custom bench seating. We installed a new Type I hood and Ansul system, upgraded to Protect-All flooring in the BOH, added new cabinetry and countertops, and completed all new MEP systems, including low voltage wiring and future parklet-ready power.
We’re proud to support Bun Mee's debut in the Marina with a refreshed, intentional space built to serve the next generation of fans.
